  • 1 teaspoon chili sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon honey or sugar
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon finely chopped spring onions

Instructions:

Preparing the Dough

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt.
  • Gradually add water and knead until you get a smooth and elastic dough.
  • Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.

Preparing the Chicken Filling

  • In a pan, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium heat.
  • Add the minced garlic, ginger, and green chilies. Sauté for a minute until fragrant.
  • Add the finely chopped onion and cabbage. Cook until they soften.
  • Add the ground chicken and cook until it turns white and is cooked through.
  • Add soy sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, and salt. Mix well.
  • Finally, add the finely chopped spring onions. Stir well and cook for another minute.
  • Remove from heat and let the filling cool to room temperature.

Assembling the Momos

  • Divide the dough into small, equal-sized balls.
  • Roll each ball into a thin circle, about 3-4 inches in diameter.
  • Place a tablespoon of chicken filling in the center of each circle.
  • Fold and pleat the edges to seal the momos. You can shape them into half-moons or round dumplings, as per your preference.

Frying the Momos

  • Heat oil in a deep frying pan or wok over medium heat.
  • Once the oil is hot, carefully add the momos in batches. Fry them until they are golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove the fried momos and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.

Preparing the Dipping Sauce

  • In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, vinegar, chili sauce, sesame oil, honey (or sugar), minced garlic, and finely chopped spring onions. Mix well.

Serving

  • Serve the fried chicken momos hot with the prepared dipping sauce.
  • Enjoy your crispy and flavorful fried chicken momos!
